What is Elyn Cream?

Elyn Cream is very similar to Eflora because it is also designed to treat unwanted hair on and around the lips, chin and other areas of your face.   It is particularly effective in conditions, such as hirsutism, which is an abnormal overproduction of androgens, or menopause that manifests itself as a natural consequence of aging. It helps slow down the rate of hair growth in unwanted areas, but this does not mean that it will put an end to hair growth altogether. The cream is designed to reduce facial hair and improve the overall look and appearance of male-to-female transsexuals as well.

How does it Work?

The eflornithine hydrochloride 13.9% found in Elyn Cream prevents the production of the so-called ornithine decarboxylase enzyome that can be found in hair follicles deep within the skin and stimulates hair growth during the hair production cycle. Elyn prevents the production of protein in these hair follicles by blocking cell division, thus decreasing the rate of hair production. Although, Elyn does not destroy the hair or prevent it from growing again; in a sense, it reduces the amount of unwanted hair but does not prevent its reappearance completely.

How to Use:

  • Apply Elyn Cream twice a day, in the morning, and in the evening (make sure that there are at least 8 hours between treatments)
  • Apply the Cream to the affected areas, and make sure you rub it in thoroughly.
  • Once the Cream has been completely absorbed by your skin can you go ahead and apply cosmetics or other lotions on the affected parts.
  • You may only wash it off 4 hours after treatment.
  • Continue using the product until you see relevant improvements. They can usually be seen after 4 to 8 weeks
  • Once you stop treating your face with Elyn cream for a longer period of time, hair may begin to grow back by finally returning to its original pre-treatment state.
